Irq -2 ???

I'd been having some occasional issues (computer would restart during games, once during a dvd). It's very occasional, I figured it was a vista/driver issue. Still planning to try the newest catalyst version sometime..fingers crossed

I checked out the IRQ assignments just for grins, and Windows Device Manager reports the video card as "(PCI) -2". Negative 2? What is that about? It's pci express.

I know that with ACPI, virtual IRQ's are used, as you see ones over IRQ 15. On this bit, my guess is that the -2 IRQ is just another virtual IRQ.

I understand the 7.8 or 7.9 Cats were some real turds, but I don't know how the 7.10's fare, despite several articles floating around.

IRQ 2 is connected to IRQ 8-15. The following components are a part of these:

8 Real-time clock
9 IRQ 2 controller
10 Network adapter
11 SCSI adapter
12 PS/2 mouse
13 Math Coprocessor
14 Primary IDE controller
15 Secondary IDE controller

And the following is true about PCI devices:
PCI IRQs are handled differently than regular [ISA or system] IRQs. The PCI controller allows for 4 PCI IRQs, commonly called #A, #B, #C, and #D. The PCI Controller can automatically control PCI IRQs, which is necessary when a PCI device requires a system IRQ. In this case, the PCI Controller will map the PCI IRQ to an available system IRQ
