Keyboard/Mouse and Monitor? Not Functioning on Power Up

I custom build my desktop computer over the winter break and have applied all the latest windows updates and drivers (specs below).

Though just recently, the mouse and keyboard do not turn on during start up, hence the computer monitor sits idle? (black screen but the LED on the monitor is red....meaning it's idle). I have a gaming keyboard and gaming mouse, both have LED lights that glow and frankly both are completely off on power-up.

Though, if I was to manually turn off my PC, pull out the USB mouse and Keyboard and plug it back in, then turn on the PC, it works fine.... though I hate doing this each time I want to turn on my desktop....

The OS is installed on my SSD.

I read that this might have something to do with my CMOS? BIOS? Not too sure over here...

Any ideas, let me know if further information is required? Thanks in advance!!!

Pull the bios battery out for 10 minutes, then replace it...sounds like you installed the wrong drivers for keyboard and mouse...

I just performed a clear on the RTC RAM on my Z87 ASUS motherboard. It cleared my CMOS memory of date, time, and system setup parameters by erasing the CMOS RTC RAM data. I hope this fixed my issue as I had to enter BIOS setup on start up.

Pull the bios battery out for 10 minutes, then replace it...sounds like you installed the wrong drivers for keyboard and mouse...

If resetting the RTC R AM pins doesn't work, I will remove the battery and try again. I haven't done that before and I don't think I am too confident in removing the on board battery.


Also, I am confident I did not install the wrong drivers. For one, I didn't even install any drivers as they were installed on their own - leaves no room for human error this way.

Did your Mouse and Keyboard come with its own drivers ? Need to find out if it is the mouse/keyboard Or the USB plugin..
