Laptop dilemma

What would you suggest?

HP ProBook 4710s (VQ731EA)
Pentium Dual-Core Atom CPU Frequency 2200 Mhz T4400 Z550 Intel PM45 800 MHz
2048 Mb 2048 DDR2 800 MHz 8192 Mb Slots 2
17.3 “, 1600x900
HDD 320 Gb (7200 rpm)
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 512 Mb
12 month-warranty

Dell Inspiron 1545
Intel Pentium T4400 2.2GHz
2GB RAM
250GB 5400rpm
15.6", 1366x768
Intel GMA 4500MHD
36 month-warranty

They cost pretty much the same, there are some differences in hardware, there's a considerable difference in warranty and what I am interested in is if there are any considerable differences in reliability/quality (hence the warranty issue).

I'm supposed to go and fetch one of these tomorrow and still can't make up my mind and my initial forum inquiries rendered me even more double-minded. :confused:
 
What OS does these come with? From the looks of it, they are both good machines though Dell has a better after care warrant. If one does not come with Windows then I'd for the other one. Maybe that could be the deal maker.

Well, HP comes with Linux and Dell comes with Ubuntu so... :))

What I am interested in was if there's any serious hardware difference between them why I should favorize one over another.

I also had an impression that they're quite similar but I needed someone's confirmation since I don't know much about hardware, especially laptops.

I could probably pick up Dell in the nearest store whereas I'd have to order HP and make additional payment for the delivery so I think I'm definitely going with Dell.
