I recently bought a Leadtek Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT online 100% sure that it was fully compatible with my com (which ive built and upgraded since i was 13, 4 years ago) but i quickly ran into a huge problem. at windows loading screen the loading bar would occasionally freeze and my computer would reset, and if it got onto the desktop doing something such as changing the resolution or trying to start a game up it would sometimes show the blue screen of death and the restart again. when i say sometimes its more than just once or twice a day, its several times. i have a 500watt PSU - PCI Express and ive checked the temperature, its all fine. whats weird is it seems to settle in through the day, so when i wake and turn my com on, itl most likely restart on windows loading screen, and then after a few restarts getting onto the desktop it will restart a few times through the morning, then when my com gets warmer and has been on a few hours, the game crashes/restarts are further spaced apart, but i dont want to have to wait all morning to get my com working, and still have to face crashes. please help :P thanks

Hi.
Seems like you are facing drivers/device conflicts on your PC. Analyze your blue screen by writing down an Error message or look for errors in Windows Event Viewer (Start->Control Panel-> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer).
Try downgrading/upgrading your nVidia drivers before cleaning old ones.
NVIDIA Forums -> How to correctly remove graphics card drivers. (Edit: From add/remove control panel - remove nvidia drivers but don't re-start yet! Before u restart, go to registry and scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video )

well if e look at past the older cpu's (p4, athlon, g5) use much power than today's cpu's i remember my old p4 extreme edition counting up to 355watts at full load ( resistance tests that i have done before oın check panel ) so that it's not too important that you have the old pc or not even having old pc is a disadvantage because you can't fully perform the machine
unless we are sure that the psu's ampere is enough for the pc, we will concern it suspicious
but if the ampere is enough and the temp. is high, than we gonna check the case
the fans may not be capable of cooling the system it may be seen normal but the core temperature can be higher than seen ( pentium 3 ghz cpu's are known with this issue )
