Levi Strauss is to introduce a new range of 'iPod jeans' featuring built-in headphones, joystick and docking cradle. The RedWire DLX range is designed for men and women, and has a special side pocket with a white leather patch to store an iPod. A four-way joystick on the watch pocket allows the user to play/pause, track forward/back and adjust the volume without removing the player. Retractable headphones have been built in, as has a docking cradle that allows users to look at their iPod screen and control it via the jeans. "In designing the jeans we considered both function and fashion. The result is a uniquely functional, yet stylish, great fitting jean," said Robert Hanson, Levi's US brand president. The company describes the jeans as "machine washable once the iPod has been removed". They will be available by the end of the year. Source: vnunet
Yeah, its a nice idear..... but its much more fun (and geeky) to do it yourself. [ot] Get yourself a decent jacket, decide what you want in what pockets and then run the wires through the jacket (cut a hole in the lining) to one point, and plug them all into a usb hub (and then connect a retractable usb cable and wire it into your inside pocket ) so you can walk upto a computer and plug in your mp3, phone, pen drive, pda, led lights on your jacket P) etc at the same time. If you buy it, its 'fashion'.... if you make it, its pure geek \m/ >_< \m/ [/ot]
Sounds like you're describing Ruler of B. I have to think that the iPants will run for a ridiculous amount, knowing the way things go. Even loading up one with an iPod Shuffle, it wouldn't surprise me to see those iPants run for $250-300...but, some people have to have something like that.
