Live CD with full NTFS support

As I have posted already, I killed my Linux install.
My main problem now is that I have quite a bit of stuff on the linux HDD. It is basically 98% full and the only way to keep the stuff there and re-install is, I suppose, to partition and then move things around etc. I am not that keen on this option. However, I have made some space on a large NTFS partition.
I tried to use my Mandriva live CD to move things over but even when I mount the NTFS partition as 'rw' and give normal users the right to mount and access it, I still cannot write to the NTFS partition. :(

My question is - is there a live CD which implements writing to NTFS partitions 'out of the box'?

Debian uses a utility (which I cannot name now) which writes to NTFS volumes with no problem at all, just like it was a linux partition.... However, these utilities or simillar are not available on the Mandriva live CD. But AT's suggestion, in the post you place a link to, seem interesting. I tried something simillar before but it did not work. Windows recognised the linux partition but could not retrieve anything from it.

Maybe this one will work better.

I cannot believe I am going to use Windows to retrieve data from a failed Linux partition. Bill Gates will be looking for this post..... hehe... :doh:
 
SLAX has the ability to read and write to NTFS.
It works for me flawlessly writing to my NTFS partition.

Does SLAX have a live CD with this ability built in?

Matt, I just realised that my drive is formatted as RaiserFS, so the tool AT mentioned in his post probably won't work....
Well, it is not working....
 
Live CD with full NTFS support - solved

I Googled and found this little utility -
YAReG - read ReiserFS partitions in Windows

As AT mentioned, highly NOT recommended with live WORKING Linux partitions, but in my case it seems to have saved my data from my linuxed drive.

So far, the files seem intact and in good order.... transfer is really fast as well...

So it seems like a handy little tool.
