Looking for new card

So currently I'm running a GeForce 9500 GT and am looking to upgrade to something much better. My other hardware is as follows:

ASUS P7P55D-E
Intel i5 655k 3.20 GHz OC @ 3.41 GHz
8GB Dual Channel DDR3 2200
Current HD: 375GB SATA 1.5gb/s Western Digital
Upgrading to: 2x 1.5TB 7200rpm SATA 3.0GB/s in RAID 5
Current PSU: 450w Thermal Take
Upgrading to: Corsair 750W most likely unless something else is recommended For the better Video card.

I will be getting the hard drive upgrade next week, the PSU will be 3 or 4 weeks, then the video card 5 or 6 weeks from now. I dont know if I should get dual video cards by the end of summer, I run 2 monitors all the time but most cards have 2 out puts. I play lots of games, do video editing in premiere, and graphical work in photoshop (not at the same time, only one at a time!)

I would recommend Nvidia GTX 280 or if you have cash 400 series.

Well TBH im trying to decide between 2x GTX 280's or a single GTX 480 (with the possibility of two in a few more months) I've gotten everything but my Graphics card now, so that's next on my list! (week or two max)

I on your place would wait for 400 series start coming with 2GB of memory. I believe it will start coming our soon as a response to ATI already having it.

I believe that it is not so good graphic card, at it has little memory and from my experience I can tell that ATI are very fast but have stability problem.

if ATI, go for nothing below HD5770.

As for other brands (read - GeForce), do not go for anything below mainstream.

Since you haven't really given us a budget I will recommend the GTX480. This nuclear reactor on a card is the most powerful single GPU card out there
and demonstrates just how powerful Fermi can be.
Provide it with a well aired case, a high quality 600W PSU with at least 45 Amps on the 12v and you will have a force to be reckoned with.
This card will burn a hole through your games, wallet and electricity bill like no other. A whole lot of fun in a $500 box.
