Mouse Randomly Losing Connectivity On Clicks (including Long Clicks)

Since a couple months now I'm having some mouse connectivity issues like my mouses (I've already tried 3 mouses and the problem is the same in all of them).


so the problem is when I make a long click (for a selection of files or for dragging a file or even just a click on the same spot for example) my mouse stop the click for a moment and starts another one right after that and my finger on the mouse it's still pressing on the same spot

on this video I clicking on the mouse all the time but on the computer the selection stops for a moment and the starts again


To solve this problem I've tried almost every thing I've seen on the web like going to windows troubleshooter looking for errors, I've tried to go windows update to see if there's any drive outdated, I've even got to the windows device manager to check in every single device if there is an outdated driver and I've switched the ports where the mouses were connected

(this is only a problem with the buttons not the optical "light").

Try another USB port first. That also may be software problem, some special software installed for your mouse or keyboard?

I've already tried all the ports of my computer (3.0 and 2.0)

no I just have their drivers installed (and they are all updated)

Try uninstalling those drivers.

That sucks then as this problem is very hard to isolate. Problem may be:

- USB port settings (like USB port refresh rate or USB port power savings, try those power settings)
- BIOS (unlike but possible, try disabling or enabling USB legacy support)
- Power supply (very unlike but still possible)
- Motherboard's USB controller broken (not likely)
- Anything software based that (includes operating system and drivers etc)

So essentially problem may be anywhere. Try those USB power saving settings and USB legacy support on BIOS.

I find hard to believe that it can be a problem with the USB refresh rate (or any other problem related to a USB) because I have an headset, and a keyboard attached to other ports (I have tried connecting my mouse to those ports too) and I'm not having problems with that equipment.

I'm running out of ideas. Reinstalling Windows is usually good way to solve many problems. If you have second HDD (or partition), you can install Windows there and see if problem is still present.
