hi every one :)


i am new here and here goes my first topic :doh:




i got msi 945 motherboard was working okay was looking on the msi website and found that new bios online update so without any qyestions i did it :O


after done it worked just fine 2 dayes later my ps/2 keybiard and mouse isnt working any more ..tryed usb the keyboard didnt work on bios and computer hangs asking for F1 when i remove it it loads windows and i can use usb ..


hmm so what should i do ? idid reset bios by removing the battary and all but nothin .:x:


any help would be great ..any thanks for your time .;)
 
Do this

1. Take out the cmos battery
2. Unplug your computer
3. Hold in the power button while its unplugged for 30 seconds

Doing that resets the bios there is a another more complicated way I will tell you if that doesnt work.
 
1. Turn on your computer and press the key on your keyboard to enter the BIOS
2. Go to the last tab or page of your BIOS.
3. Select and do restore factory settings
4. Save your changes
 
Find the 3-pin jumper near the battery "clear cmos" or "reset bios"

Remove the jumper from the default position

Replace the jumper to connect the 2nd and 3rd pins.

Push the power button on the front of your comp once.

Wait about 2 mins.

Return the jumper to its default position, connecting the 1st and 2nd pins.

If that doesn't work, try and get the older version of the bios from somewhere and flash the bios while not using windows

NEVER flash your bios from within windows

Well maybe because the bios is a non windows program, and doing it from within windows can cause a corruption therefor ruining your motherboard like this user may have.
 
i cant use my ps2 keyboard so i cant log into bios ...


can you help me find an older v of the bios and maybe it will be ok..


how to flash in dos ?
 
you tried another PS/2 keyboard?
Alot of USB keyboards don't work until they hit windows because then windows installs the Usb controller driver.

If your motherboard supports Flashing the bios from windows that's your best bet. to revert your bios to an earlier version.

Can you tell me the full name of your motherboard and we will let you know if your board supports it, if it does your all good to go.

1st of all

There is no need for a usb keyboard driver, if there was a need for a driver every single computer would not be able to use the keyboard in bios

2nd of all

Obviously if the board has a ps2 slot, it supports a ps2 keyboard, why would they add a useless slot for nothing?

This goes back- Do you know anything?

Actually you can. MSI has a product called MSI Live Update. It can flash the BIOS from Windows. Many other brands offer a similar tool. I don't have any experience with the Live Update tool of MSI. But if you used it to update your BIOS, is there a roll back or restore option in that program?
 
Yes my friend has a tool like that. it automatically updates his bios from windows when a new revision is released for his motherboard. Alot of companies have this feature avaiable flashing the bios from windows. It's so much easier and faster.

yes i have try to roll back but at that time i have found that msi have deleted all the older versions from the site and i stupid didn't take a backup dump i know ..

and yes have other 3 ps2 keyboards the same thing ..

and yes i can use updating bios from windows that how idid it the first time ..( i wouldn't encourage any one to do it tho ) ..

the update tool it self dose not support go back in time thing ..

by the way any info about F1 Keyboard Fuse replacement ..and keyboard interface error.
