A fan for what? The motherboard itself uses passive cooling, so you do want to make sure that the case itself has decent airflow. the chipsets must not get warm enough to require active cooling, as Asus and a few other companies have been using passive cooling of some type on the nForce chips. If it was required, you can bet that there'd be a fan on the places that needed it. You probably can add a fan. Again, if you've got decent airflow through your case, you'll be fine.

The CPU's you've looked at are retail version, all of which come with a heatsink for the CPU.

The setup looks fine, as BIG B said the fans supplied are fine the case comes with a 120mm I believe and your heat sink should be fine. I would suggest you get a good set of small screw drivers and 2 large philip head screw drivers ( anti shock if you feel insecure) and a Anti static wrist band for safety since this is your first build.

Do not work in a carpeted area with just socks try to work in a hard floor area on a table for the build. You definitly dont want one little electric shock to fry all those expensive parts. Last, but not least dont screw the motherboard on too tight.

P.S. All IDE cables and such are supplied with each part as needed.

    Keyboards:
    Wireless - 39.99
    ( after rebates)
Logitech Cordless Desktop S 510 2-Tone RF Wireless Desktop - Retail at Newegg.com

    Wired- 17.99 ( no rebates)
Logitech Internet Pro Desktop Black Wired Keyboard - OEM at Newegg.com

Your hard drive and optical drive are OEM, so you'll get the drive only. However, you'll have the IDE and SATA cables you need included with your motherboard, so unless you've seen a different cable you really like, everything is included.
If you want to look at a different CPU heatsink, that's fine, but what's included with the CPU will work.
The case includes fans, but if you want to opt for something else (like using some low RPM fans---Vantec Stealth), then you could buy them. Not necessary, however.

Basically, the componets you're listing will provide you with the connections needed...mostly due to the accessory package of the motherboard.
