It depends on game to game and whether there are beta drivers or not

as for the memory what is the best kind and does it make a big difference in fps? i noticed a big difference in the price between ddr2 ddr3 and ddr400. the ddr3 is most exspensive and the others are like half price

If you wanna be flash and/or pose to your mates, have a large bank balance then get a high end mobo and DDR3. If on the other hand you are a mere mortal like the rest of us then just go for DDR2 800 on a P35 board.

8800gt outperforms the 8800gts 320 by quite a margin. The 8800GT actually performs right under the NEW 8800GTS and also right under the 8800GTX. Price/performance I would still go with the 8800GT 512 if you plan on doing intense gaming. The 8800GT 256 would work just fine for you if you just want to do moderate gaming.
