Network boot?

Big Geek
I have my XP laptop (downstairs) networked with my XP desktop (upstairs). Is it possible to boot the desktop PC from the laptop - or vice-versa?

Thanks in advance,

David.

Do you mean trigger a boot remotely or boot up your desktop from your laptops HDD (or visa versa) ?

Well, trigger a boot remotely from my laptop - I suppose. I once read somewhere (I'm sure) that a boot can be triggered from one machine on a network to boot up another machine on the same network.

Not at all sure how it works, but apparently, a 'packet' is sent from one machine on the network that the other machine 'recognizes' and boots up.

yes, it is possible if u want to boot ur desktop from laptop, there is ur desktop must be power on (only ups power on) after that then u can boot ur desktop via network. one term should be confirmed in ur bios setting i.e. "wakeup from lan"
