PC not getting signal to monitor

Ok my little brother has a emachines T6524 desktop pc hes had it since 2005 worked fine of course since then no hardware changes other then adding a PCI-express geforce 6800 thats been in there for a year about now no problems so my brother comes home from school today cuts on his pc seems fine but then the monitor doesnt connect at all gets no signal and the pc is running loud like when you first turn on a pc the loud sound kept going didnt stop like it usually would and still no connection to monitor. So i fiddle around first thinking it just might be some video problem but what really sealed the deal that it was not was when i had the pc on and tried to open the cd and dvd drives they would not open. So im thinking it is a power supply problem with the pc tell me what you guys think? also when i opened up his pc somthing i never payed attention to before is his power supply was a 20pin and his motherboard is a 24 ofcourse so i know it can still fit in and work but i thought you need a 24pin powersupply to run PCI-Express on a pc and mabye some other stuff i dont know about? //////////////// Ok so i just put in a new power supply one that i know works and its a 24 pin and the pc is still acting the same the CPU fan and back pc fan are spinning really fast like you just turned on the pc and does not stop and i get no signal from the pc to monitor still so what now?

OK now the newest update i think i found the problem the Harddrive i noticed was not making much noise it seemed but the harddrive activiting light on the front is showing not activity while its on so what should i do?
 
Hi Friend,if your Pc beep is continuous ,Its simply an indications of
1.No Power, 2.Loose Card, or 3. Short.
First there are few things u have to make sure ,that all the Add on cards that are in PCI slots are good enough,tightly fit in .
Wheather there is any power supply failure( In your case the power supply is good enough as fan is in working state)
But as per Statment your LED on the front panel is not working ---for this There may be jumper setting problem at the back of the HDD,As this is a Working PC I dont think the position of the Jumper is wrong ,but there is chance of loose contact and could not shot the required pins , or try changing the Harddisk Molex connector with other.And last but not least once again check the power connector on the mother board( wheather it is fixed properly or not ) And i guess most of the problem Will solve in this procedure.

eMachines are none for bad power supplys and bad push button switches.
If your monitor does not come on, I would first try another Video graphics Card.
Next test power supply to make sure it is ok. Next open case and remove ram and clean carefully...

Which Power Supply was that??? If you check [link=http://www.hardwareforums.com/power-supply-sticky-5218/]This Thread[/link] you will understand what i am talking about.
Check your Monitor because it could be possible that the monitor is dead or smthing...
Also, i would suggest you try Barebone method and see if it works with it...
Pull out the Mobo from the Case and leave it with only...
Processor,
1xRAM
1xHDD
Video Card(If onboard is available then use that)

Short the pins with a flat head screw driver and see if it works...
 
I agree with Karanislove. You need to isolate the issue. In my opinion you may unplug all the stuff, even the memory and HDD. Just turn it on in that state, if the MB and the CPU are OK you may hear several beeps indicating lack of memory. Then plug your memory firmly and boot again..at this point if your video card is OK you may see the POST on your display.
Try first with your OnBoard video if you have it and unplug your PCI or AGP video card.
If the screen keeps black try different things such as:

- another display
- another video card

and the rest is really hard...
- another cpu
- another MB

yeah, check all connections disconnect and reconnect them to be sure, emachines had PSUs that could only provide enough power for the components they started with, so upgrading a PCIe grfx card without upgrading the PSU was not the best idea, but also the PSU must be connected directly to the grfx card with the (i think) 4 pin connector, if this doesn't work then try the barbone approach, but remember what ghosty said about the power switch (sometime they are dodgy)
