I have a DFI Lanparty UT NF3 250GB motherboard and id like to know if you can use a pci-e graphics card on this board or do you have to have a board witch is made specialy for pci-e. Sorry this is probably is stupid questoin but it would help if i could get this cleared up. thanx
 
PCI-E is a very different bus to AGP, and therefore there is no way to use a PCI-E card natively on the board. However you can buy PCI-E to AGP converter so you can get a bit of extra life out of your motherboard longer, but I'm not certain on how well these devices perform.

Also these converters usually require you to have special half-height cards.

That's the killer: half-height cards. You really don't see any mid- or high-end video cards in half-height format, so you run into the issue of physical support.

On the flip-side you can still find some decent cards in AGP format, so if that's all you want, you can still snag a decent upgrade there.
 
Sorry this was a very stupid question but thanx. Hwf is awsome cuz even if youre a newbie in certain areas people will still take the time to anwser a dumb question
