Ok, heres the deal. I built my computer from scratch, buying the parts brand new and since I put them together, Im having huge performance issues.
Im running a Geforce 7900 GTX and I cant even run newer games on the lowest settings without having them stutter. Benchmarks put me at running between 3-8 frames per second which is horrible.
Im wondering if it could be my processor or maybe just a faulty card.
Other equipment:
Intel Mobo model D945GTP
Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz at 800mhz FSB
Geforce 7900gtx PCI-E Graphics card
2 GB DDR2 PC2 4300 Ram running in Dual Channel
Not sure the size of my Power Supply but could that also be a problem? Dont want to shell out money if im not sure what the problem is.
So can anyone help me? My only guess was that the processor is not up to par with current Dual Core processors and is slowing the games down. Any help would be appreciated, since with this system I should be able to run most new games at max settings, and currently I stutter on low and medium settings.
