Yes, for what reason, no one is completely sure, but none the less, they have done it. Now there is a problem that some see here, which is how eerily similar it is to Blu-ray. It achieve this feat by having 16 layers, with each layer having a capacity similar to that a Blu-ray disk. There lies the issue, and in my mind, thats just to many layers, i think Pioneer is just asking for problems there.

Pioneer Creates 40gb Optical Disk

I have to apologize, i don't know whats wrong with me lately, but the title is suppose to read 400gb, not 40.
