possible new build

    first, is there any point in having more than 8gb of ram?

    No, not really... not to the average user any way. 2-4gb is good enough.

    this is the same guy who's deciding on a radeon 6xxx and wants to play games like witcher 2.

    but no need for more than 8, right? it may end up being used for things like corel draw and photoshop as well. I know my current xp rig with 4gb cannot handle corel draw very well.
