Firstly, hey! I'm new to these forums.
Secondly, I was hoping that someone on here could help me sort out a problem I have been having with my wireless network.
For about a week, my upstairs computer has been connecting to the network for a while (20 minutes tops) and then disconnecting. I then click 'repair' and it fails to connect. Then sometimes after a couple of times of pressing repair, it might reconnect sucessfully and my connection will be back, restarting the whole 20 minutes or so, or it will connect, but no internet access will be availiable. If while repairing it doesn't connect at all, it will stay on 'Connecting to the wireless network' or 'Renewing your IP address' for a bit, then fails to do so.
I know it is not a problem with my internet connection, because when the net is not working upstairs, it works fine on the downstairs PC (which is linked by an ethernet cable, rather than a wireless connector).
I have a Belkin 54g wireless router which links the downstairs pc with a cable, and a Belkin 54g wireless pci card in the upstairs PC.
I tried updating the firmware for the router which did nothing, then I tried uninstalling/ reinstalling the PCI card, to no avail.
Please help me fix this problem as its a real annoyance, as I've been able to use my wireless network for almost a year without any problems until now. If theres anything else you need to know about my pc's or equipment just ask if it'll help.
:O
