and that would be very funny especially when linux is free. If bill tries to market linux people will not buy plus he would lose customers, because a lot of linux users cannot stand microsoft, thus Bill would not make any money. why would people buy something that was once free.?
[ot] What about individuals who tinker with the linux kernel for fun. The thing abot linux is companies don't own it. Its licensed under GPL, source code is freely available. No one can own it because they buy out the companies which happen to distribute versions of it. Microsoft taking any of the source code from linux or any GPL software and making it closed source would be an infringement of the license. So they'd have to release it freely and open source too. In a stunning move, nintendo decided to re-vamp the ultimate console of all time. SNES2. Now featuring 38 Cores running at 5Ghz each, and Five GPU's. Nintendo is now expected to dominate the console department heading into the new year, not only because of its poweful specifications, but will be pre-installed with Windows Vista, and any linux distro of the buyer's choice. It can even make cookies for you.
The RSX, the GPU in the PS3 will be as powefull as a 7800 GTX 512 if it only had 20 pipes instead of 24. This is much more powerfull than ATI's R520, the XBOX360 GPU.
The X360's GPU is custom, which is to say that you won't really be able to buy anything like it so I wonldn't say it's more or less powerful at the moment. It's also reported to have 48pixel pipes thought the number system has changed a little apparently so I think they're including shaders in the number as well (weird new architecture most likely). Bah, forget xbox 360 for one reason and one reason only; you might as well just spend the 400 on a good graphics card! its microsoft, those games will make their way to pc. Anyone actually play call of duty on Xbox 360? Its like playing it on pc with "medium" settings. I stayed away from xbox cuz the games sucked and the ones that were good appeared on pc (fable, halo?) Ps3 will have metal gear solid 4 thats why i'll get it. The only thing that sells xboxes are madden and halo. If thats your thing go for it, but that doesn't mean the system is more powerful than a system that is pretty tightly kept secret. ps: i hate the xbox controller and since i first held it I was biased b/c the analog sticks were in different positions, just messed with my tiny brain. I hate sony as much as microsoft b/c they make crappy headphones that break in a week or lose sound in one ear, HOWEVER, PS3 all the way!!
I here you man, but you must admit if your good with controllers and want to play some highend titles but can't afford to spend at the very least $1000 then $400 looks pretty attractive. Sure a lot of those games are available but not all of em. Kameo, Perfect Dark 0, Criminal Origins, Full Auto, etc. Yes a lot of the titles will hit PC but people will have to blow hundreds to keep their PC up to speed while the 360 folks will be able to plug and play. I realize it's not always so simple but there's a lot of value in consoles if you ask me
