quick question about price of GeForce Ti4200

Save yourself time & trouble: go with the 9600XT or a 9800. It's cheaper, faster, and it fully supports DirectX 9. There are no Nvidia cards in the world that fully support DirectX 9 (yet), not even one. Besides, ATI cards have a higher level of visual quality. I'm not an ATI fanboy, but the way Nvidia has been lately, I feel like I'm becoming one.

The Ti's are the previous generation of nVidia cards, and honestly, a little better quality. However, they're still outdone by the current Radeon's. To give you a picture, the Radeon 9600 series is on par with a GeForce 4 Ti4600---which is the top performing GF4 card.

Cool. I've heard that the Ti cards were real good, and thought i'd be able to grab one of them for a lot less money than what i was going to pay for a 9600XT($170). But seeing as the price difference isn't much and that the 9600 series is a lot better, i'll stick with the XT.

Good Choice.

If you absolutely want the overdrive feature (temp monitoring + dynamic oc) and do not want to have to guess on which card has it, grab a BBA one. They are pricier though.
