RAm problems???

first off heres my computer specs,

amd 6000+ dual core
2 gb corsair
9600 gso
600w psu
plenty of fans

heres the deal, i havent had this computer to long maybe like 4 months. i just installed need for speed most wanted, the game runs very smooth on the highest settings, for like 6 hours. then the graphics start to get really choppy. i dont even need to have the game running, ill leave my computer on for the whole day and go to play it at night and its all choppy, but as soon as i restart my computer its good to go again. Im not sure if this is my video card or my ram? i already went into the registry editor and tryed using more ram when i play, but no luck it still does the same thing. also when i play counter strike it will randomly freeze and it takes like 10 seconds to go back, now cs isnt a good graphic game as NFS, but i just am wondering if this is my video card or ram? because i am gonna call either one for support and try to get a new video card or ram... i just wanna make sure first

HD : 35C
CORE : 36C

i have a lot on 120mm fans in my comp, with a huge *** cpu fan lol i dont think its over heating..

there is no artifacting, and it is not low frame rate.... it like seems like it it REALLY REALLY sped up and fast, but its not smooth at all. its like sped up but choppy. its either a ram issue or my video card i just know it.... i think my video card is giving my system a memory leak

Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic download, burn cd image, boot from cd and let it run for atleast good 3 - 4 hrs. If it displays errors you know it's ram.

If it passes memtest. Download Prime95 to check cpu for stability errors. let it run for about 4 hrs. if it passes you can then rule out ram and cpu.

BTW: what are your north and southbridge temps when in use? that could be causing this problem, you said you've ran a game for over 6 hours could be NB overheating because that's where alot of activity is through your memory controller, system bus, gpu controller.

Also what are your cpu, and gpu temps when in use?
 
i did the memtest86 and my ram was fine, i did like 7 tests, 3 with each stick, and 1 with both sticks in....guess its not my ram....

and im not PLAYING the games for like 6 horus, its just when my computer has been on that long....

i think something could be over heating..... everytime i play cs now it freezes, it takes longer for NFS to get chopy, but my counter strike freezes within like 2 mintues of playing.......

im thinking its my video card?????

also sometimes my firefox will like freeze for a split second man this is so annoying........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im gonna put my old video card in and see if it still does it, its like a MX 4000 LOL but ill see if it freezes..........
 
your temps looks fine, yes try the old graphics card see if you still have issues.
by the way have you overclocked you cpu?
 
no i have not overclocked it, i am gonna run the Prime95 tonight when i go to sleep. If nothing is wrong im gonna assume its my GPU... and then i will swap my old one in a see.
 
have you tried your old graphics card yet? give that ago first, and if the problem is fixed you know it's graphics card. your cpu and ram are both ruled out, so I can only think of it being two other things, graphics card or power supply unit.
 
alright im gonna put in my old card, and then lwhen i get home from work im gonna try playin the games and see whats up..... then ill report here, bobby thanks for all your help man i really appreciate it bro.
 
No problem. One other thing i forgot to mention was try re-installing your chipset drivers, because it will re-install the gpu controller driver on the northbridge. So keep the current graphics card installed and see if it still has problems if it does then switch to the old graphics card.
 
well i just got home from work and i had my old graphics card in, and it still did it...... so its not my graphics card........ wow now im stumped?????

chipset drivers? what disk would that be on? my mother board one?
 
when i turned off my computer to switch my old video card in, i put it in and after the XP boot screen my computer kept doing the blue screen system dump??????????????? i went in safe mode and system restored???? is this my ram?, or cus i had different video drivers installed? once i system restored it was alright... now i still need to figure out my choppy problem......

ok i installed the chipsets ( i actually think i installed some drivers that werent previously installed??) lets see how this goes
 
right, so now you've ruled out, graphics card, cpu, ram. I also try another power supply unit. have you got any virus's on your system? do you ever defrag your hard drive? if you have sisoft sandra use the hard drive bench marking utility to see if your hard drive has any faults with read or write speeds. have you used chkdsk for any bad sectors on your hard drive?
 
on another forum they are saying its my PSU, they say i do not have enough AMPS for my setup..... and my HDD is really clean trust me im serious really anal about keeping my computer neat and clean clean..... so it must be my PSU???
 
your 600w psu is efficent enough to power your system. but could be faulty, try a spare psu, if you still have problems I would format harddrive and clean install of windows. If no luck with that there is no other option but motherboard.
