Registry problem

i recently read an article out of pcworld to add the "new folder" link to the context menu. well i put what it said, and after that, anytime i tried to open a folder, the command prompt to open up. wtf....i said, so after that, i read how to delte the key, and i did, but now, when i try to open any folder, the "search results" window comes up, the window you use to search for files and folder on the pc. i dont know what to do next, anybody know a fix for this?

i just reapplied the old settings...but those were the settings i had backed up after i did added the link to the context menu. so now im stuck on the frist problem. my problem now is , anytime i open a folder, the command prompt appears instead, with the address of the folder for the first line of the prompt.

Here is the text that i was told would add the command:
cmd.exe /c md "%1\New Folder"

its always a good idea to backup the registry before making any changes or edits.

ok try this go to my computer then go to tools > folder options > file types (tab) go to folder and file folder then click advanced and set the options to default.

I've never had this problem so I'm guessing here.

i tried doing that, and that is a good idea so i said, why wouldnt it work? so i did it, and instead of opening the command prompt, is opens up the search results page , someething is edited wrong. and as far as backing up the registry, i never edited the registry directly, it was through a menu in file types. :(
