Resolution Problem - Missing Video Driver

Thank you for your help in advance.

I purchased a used laptop just over a year ago. It is an off brand laptop that someone built at a local PC shop. Last week something happened to my display. It began displaying only 16 colors and made everything look big. I went into the display settings and tried to change it back to my origional setting of 16k colors. When I reset my computer (win 98), it was back on 16 color mode again. It said there was a problem with my display driver. I tried to reinstall it from the windows 98 cd and it said that it could not find the correct driver.

With all that said, I have no clue what kind of video card is in my laptop. Is there a software/diagnostics program I can use that will tell me what kind of video card I have? I need to know in order to find the correct video driver.

I thank you for your help!

SISoftware Sandra will tell you detailed info on your Video Chipset :)

Thank you for your help! I ran the Performance Wizard in SISoftware and it told me exactly what kind of video card was in my laptop. I was then able to search the web for my driver. Things look much better now!

Thank you for your help!
