    Hey guys.

Ive just installed Rollercoatser Tycoon 3, i try to run the game and i get an error message saying "Out of range".

I think the error message is comming from the actual monitor its self, any idea how to fix this?

    Thanks

input signal out of range is probably a Screen refresh rate that the monitor
cannot handle. Instead of bursting into flames, the monitor shuts itself
down as a protection feature. Look at the monitor manual if you got one.

Safe Mode should allow the monitor to work in the problem account.

    Try this.

Boot in Safe Mode (see below)
Switch users to the problem account
    Right click the desktop
    Select Properties
    Click the Settings tab
    Click the Advanced button
    Click the Monitor tab
Select: Hide modes that this monitor cannot display
Select a different Screen refresh rate
Click Apply twice and then Click OK

Hide modes that this monitor cannot display
[[Specifies whether the list under Refresh Frequency will include modes that
are not supported by your monitor. Choosing a mode that is inappropriate for
your monitor may cause severe display problems and could damage your
hardware. You must be logged on as a member of the Administrator’s group in
    order to view unsupported modes.]]

You may want to double check the other user(s) settings, the one(s) with no
problem(s) to see what to set the Screen refresh rate at.

To start the computer in safe mode
    1. (Re)start your computer.
    2. When the machine first starts again it will generally list some
equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard
drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key
repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options
    menu.
    3. Select the option for Safe Mode using the arrow keys on your keyboard.
(NUM LOCK must be off before the arrow keys on the numeric keypad will
    function.)
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode.
    5. Do whatever tasks you require and when you are done reboot to boot back
    into normal mode.

If Windows launches before you can choose a safe mode, restart your computer
    and try again.

To start the computer in[link=http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true] safe mode [/link]

Hope this helps. Let us know.

My other games are working fine mate.

My graphics card is a 6800 Unlocked pipes + overclocked, so my GFX card is DEFINETLY good enough for this game.

As i say, its actully my monitor giving me this message, not the game,

Thanks very much, but the problem is now sorted.

I had to assign some settings in my Nvidia Control Panel.

Now the game is running very nice with all settings set to high as possible.

    Thanks for your help anyway.
