Serious flaws in Intel Core2 CPU's [Possibly Exploitable]

Impotence

May the source be with u!
Recently i have been seeing a number of articles about flaws/bugs in Intell CPU's, I didn't take too much notice at first (I'm a AMD guy :P) but it seems to be creating quite a stir!

Slashdot said:
"Recently, Intel patched bugs in its Core 2 processors. Details were scarce; soothing words were spoken to the effect that a BIOS update is all that is required. OpenBSD founder Theo de Raadt has now provided more details and analysis on outstanding, fixed, and non-fixable Core 2 bugs. Some choice quotes: 'Some of these bugs... will *ASSUREDLY* be exploitable from userland code... Some of these are things that cannot be fixed in running code, and some are things that every operating system will do until about mid-2008.'"

Article: 'Intel Core 2' - MARC

"According to this article in The Inquirer and this Microsoft Knowledge Base article, a fix for some significant problems in many of Intel's most recent processors has been quietly released — by whom is not clear. Patches are available on Microsoft's site. Affected processors include Core 2 Duo E4000/E6000, Core 2 Quad Q6600, Core 2 Xtreme X6800, XC6700, and XC6800. Details on just what has been fixed are scanty (it's called a 'reliability update'), however, it's probably more important than either Intel or Microsoft is openly admitting."

So.... dodgey marketing practices AND shoddy CPUs, go Intel!!!![/Intel-bashing]

.......i hope this is something that we with intel core 2's won't have to worry about. But my extreme has been spot on so far

Must say, I am biased towards AMD, myself, so YAY

Already Made my Decision

Love the sig.

As we all know, the Socket F Quad FX series of CPu's cost (if you got a pair of FX-70s) 20% less than a QX6700 and are about 30-40% less powerful and about 25% less energy efficient. Basically intel have the flag at the moment, when are AMD expected to release their next generation of CPu's that are actually going to be decent? I heard of AMD Phenom X2s and X4s from a friend, but when?

I also read that in benchmarks reviewing the new 8800 graphic cards, I came across a few that said the reason these cards can't do any better is because of CPu bottleneck, even on a QX6800. Is this true that graphic cards are currently "ahead" of CPus at the moment?
