There are certain programs that I use a lot that are not located on the desktop as icons, such as the calculator and Microsoft Word. When I right-click on these programs in the start menu and select properties, it gives me the option to set a shortcut key. I set the calculator's shortcut key to F12, thinking it would allow me to bring up the calculator at the touch of a button, but when I press F12 on the desktop, nothing happens.
What's going on? Is there any way I can create a shortcut to my most often-used programs?
