I say keep it as is. It's a good way to separate the two visuals and the color complements the texturous industrial blue bit quite well I think. Possibly a darker tone on the two parallel lines but I think it's quite classy myself as is.
If you take the bars out the image looks pretty bare and lacks that extra element of pizzaz.

i made it out of this, then i did a bit of playing in GIMP

and just threw the Vector logo on top cos i thought it looked good[ot]no idea where i found em, i probably did a pic search on Google, but i can't remember[/ot]BTW: not exactly hard[ot]well i know something that gets harder[/ot]

For me the best idea to remember things was... Using One tool and if it doesn luk good then Ctrl +Z, thats how i learned which tool is where. I still dont knw much about it but i thing i know enuff for myself..lolz!

I remember when I first started using GIMP last year...[link=http://www.hardwareforums.com/ugly-signature-10735/]this[/link] was the thread i started first. At that time I was exactly like you..I cudnt make any siggi again if I had to but todae I remember which tool i have used..
