Simple TV card advice.

Hello,

Im looking for a basic TV card for a friends PC. It will only be used to watch TV whilst using a treadmill to exercise so there is no need for recording or anything fancy. There is an aerial socket about 6 feet from the PC which I guess should be able to supply a decent signal strength for the card.

I know nothing about TV cards so any advice is welcome :)

I hadn't really thought about analog or digital, but it makes sense to get a digital card. It'll be a PCI card as the machine is never moved and they're cheaper I think. I've looked at the hauppage site and found this :-

Hauppauge Digital: WinTV Nova-T PCI

Any other manufacturers with similar products?

Thanks :)

Ah yes, I own the Hauppauge Nova-T PCI :) . It's a good card, probably the most supported card available. Good price, performance and features.

Only snagg is the including software is pretty poor. But needn't worry, there are plenty of free 3rd party applications you can use with the Nova-T.

I say go for it!
