im assembling my first pc and im planning on buying an ATI radeon powercolor HD5670 hdmi for my graphics card. but im planning to buy an LED monitor. my question is do i need an HDMI monitor so i can use my graphics card to it's full potential and make it worth my money? or does it show even i a little bit of HD even if i use an LED monitor? or should i just change my graphics card? thanks in advance sirs. and again, sorry for this stupid question
There are no stupid questions here at HWF Welcome. The majority of monitors floating around the market have at least a DVI connection and most likely have an HDMI cable as well. The connection you use will not affect the quality of your games, besides resolution which is relative to your monitors specs. Your graphics card, memory, and cpu are the main factors when considering game quality and performance. Now if you're talking about movie quality, then this depends on the connection you use, the resolution your graphics card supports, and if your monitor is full HD. So these are the 3 things you need to look out for. So far, you're all set on the graphics card as it shows support for a max resolution of 2560 x 1600, way above full HD resolutions (1920 x 1200). Now you'll need to be sure to get a monitor that supports a resolution of (1920 x 1200) or just look for one that states it is full HD (1080p). Finally, you'll need to make sure you use either an HDMI or DVI cable, and not a VGA cable as it cannot carry out HD resolutions. Both HDMI and DVI can.
thanks for answering sir and i think i just got the gist of it. but i forgot to tell that im pushing for less energy consumption coz im gonna be playing those new upcoming games like crazy. so i would wanna go for an LED and a much smaller size monitor. like 17inches or 18.5inches. so my other question is, is it worth going for ATI radeon powercolor HD5670 hdmi if im not planning to use hdmi. or should i just use a lower class graphics card. but i wanna play those new games with "recommended" specs. or is it basically that i can play those new games smoothly but i won't see better graphics unless i use hdmi? or use much bigger monitor? or can i go for an LED 18.5 inches if it has hdmi cable port? once again sorry for berserker barraging you with these questions.
If you plan on playing games then yes, get that card. Like i said, the type of connection you use won't affect gaming quality. The only difference is resolution size. HD resolutions don't come in 17-18 inch monitors though. Bear that in mind.
guess i can still live on good rather than great. thnx so much sir. you've helped a lot. sir i just saw this while looking for monitors can you check on this? http://www.lg.com/sg/it-product/monitor/LG-led-monitor-E1940T.jsp coz it says: E40 series supports 1,920 x 1,080 full HD resolution* to reproduct realistic pictures that is rich with colors and details. (*applicable to 21.5 inch and larger models) can this be true? or is it for sales thingies they do to sell.
