HI...

i bought a toslink to 3.5mm cable and i connected it from my ps3 to my laptop which has a
Conexant CX20671 SmartAudio HD sound card...

but the sound wont come out from my laptop speakers...

i read that some of the sound cards doesn't support that cable...

if any thing is not clear to u just ask me...

okay i think 3.5mm is the standard.
are you plugging this into the mic jack?
where are you plugging into?
what are you trying to achieve?

it should work. i can't give you the guarantee.
the point is you need line-in to hear your ps3 sound from your laptop speakers.
i'm not sure why you even want to do this but this would be the logical way.
spdiff from ps3 is output and then it need to go into some kind of input which would be line-in.
you would have to disable your laptop onboard sound and use the external sound.
of coarse you need to enable line-in in your software and the volume needs to be up.
