Hey all, long story short, my dad and I are teaming up to upgrade my brother's video card in his store-bought HP pc. HP Pavilion a6130n. There's a long story behind the store-bought PC since I normally build the computer for him; but that's for another day.
I'm trying to find a picture of inside his case to make sure he has room for a 2 slot PCI-e card (ex: 8800 GTS) but the real question I'm facing is can I put any replacement PSU in or do they have a proprietary setup for that stuff?
I'm looking to spend $80 - $120 on a quality PSU to handle the new video card.
We're thinking about any of the 8600/8800 GT/GTS cards. newegg is sold out on all of the new GT cards so I'm leaning towards the 8600 GTS 256MB card or the 8800 GTS card which is what I have in my system currently. I just need to find out if he'll have room for the double-slot ones. If anyone has pictures of the inside of the case please let me know. I'm tending towards the single card for heat-related issues being that it's not a tower-case.
