video problem on laptap

i have a sony vaio pcg-grz610. I have some dvd movies stored on it. After playing a movies for about 30 or more minutes from the hard drive the movie starts to jitter. When I pause the movie for about 10min and then click play again the jittering goes away. But starts up again about 20min later. It also happens when I play dvds on the player. Does anybody know what could cause this. Could the laptop be getting to hot. Please help if you can.

I would say "getting to hot"
 
when you say JITTER do you mean glitchy or like the voices dont sync with the mouth movements?
 
That is what I mean glitching. I think it is a heat issue. I do not remember it doing that before. What could be done to cool the laptop down. The fan on the laptop works and there is nothing in front of the fan that is blocking the air. Help if you can.

This "may" be caused by overheating, make sure you have the laptop on a flat surface when in use and try carefully cleaning the fans vents to get rid of dust. Could also be too many programs in the taskbar chewing up your resources.
And unlikely but your HDD could be too slow to stream the data to the cpu etc... as laptop HDD's arent very fast, like 4800rpm or something!
