Im building a gaming pc so that i can run games like

Call of duty 4 - modern warefare
Call of dudy - World at war
Call of duty - modern warefare 2 ( when it comes out)

The cpu i have decided to get is an Intel Core 2 Quad 2.66GHz.
What people have been telling me is that these games only run on one core? Would this cpu be able to run these games and others or will i have to get a better one? could someone recomend at cpu for an ASUS P5Q-E mother board which is under $300??

    Welcome to HWF :)

The motherboard uses DDR2, so you can't use the new Intel i5/i7 series. Looking at your budget, you'll do fine with an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 of 2.83 Ghz (the best you can get for that motherboard).
