Which DDR2 Memory to buy??

Hi, I would appreciate some help in deciding which DDR2 memory to upgrade to. I have a budget of around £225. There are a few 2Gb dual channel kits ive researched already.

You don't need CPUID, just post what your motherboard is. But anyways, if you can run it get OCZ, I have 2 GB of OCZ Platinum DDR 500 and it is sweet.
 
I havent bought the motherboard yet. This is for a new system build comprising of (main components):-

Abit Fatal1ty AW9D 'Conroe ready' - not released yet, a month or two
AW9D Fatal1ty - ABIT USA Forums
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40Ghz
Memory - need help!
Asus EAX800 XT Platinum Edition (old rig card)

Also if anyone disagrees with my MB choice im open to suggestions.
 
Do not, I repeat do not, get Abit. Their customer support is crap, uGuru is crap compared to Asus' alternative, and their RMA process takes forever and a day. I would go with Asus.
 
If you get that board, forgo the Fatal1ty crap. You do not gain anything except bling and a heavier price tag. The regular AW9D will do the same job. While I've not had issues with Abit, they seem to offer less than exciting boards and go with gimmicks (uGuru, Fatal1ty) than making kick-ass boards. However, I believe the AW9D is going to be one of the newer boards from Abit that's produced under the new management of USI.

The Corsair seems to have the same specs, and the Mushkin and OCZ have slightly tighter timings, which can make something of a difference if you're into tweaking.
 
I'm in the same boat.

By the looks of it, either the Mushkin or OCZ - they normally both put out nice quality products (especially OCZ platinum line). Just by looking at it i'd go with the OCZ, it has a higher clock speed already and is only 5 clock cycles behind on the active to precharge delay. It probably underclocks to better than the Mushkin if you wanna do a side-by-side comparison.

But again as they said, it depends on your mobo and what you're going to OC to.
 
Maybe, but the way memory trends have been going Corsair/Mushkin/OCZ are the performers.

You can also find decent Ballistix and Patriot lines and occasionally some good Kingston.
 
I can vouch 100% for OCZ, it is the best memory I have personally ever used. Now, before you people flame me, that doesn't mean i'm saying it is the best memory ever concieved, but it is good.
 
The OCZ of today is not like the OCZ back 4-5 years ago. I believe they're under new management, instead of the crooks that used to run it.

Gigabyte is an excellent company, but one of many. Asus, MSI, DFI, ECS (yes, they're a perfectly good brand these days) are among some of the best companies if you don't include server motherboards. In that case, you can add SuperMicro, Tyan, and Iwill to the list of fine companies. We usually leave them out because they don't cater to enthusiasts.
 
Thanks for all your replies. I think im going to go with the Mushkin XP2-6400. Their excelent for overclocking with real tight timmings. If only I could afford the Mushkin RedLine series.
