Why does the internet connection act up in such a weird way??

I accidentally unplugged my ethernet cable connecting my laptop to my home router. I immediately plugged it back in again. The little icon in the task tray indicating that a cable was unplugged disappeared, so presumably I was reconnected. But my internet wasn't working. I tried continuing what I was doing, and no web pages would work! They would just sit there loading forever... Now here's what really gets me: as soon as I restart my computer, voila, the problem disappears! And I'm good to go again. Wtf, I don't get it! What's the network doing?? Why does my internet functionality break down because of that and why does a freaking system restart cure it???
 
You have to reset it once the connection is broke.. especially on routers..
My router has too be reset all of the time.. Also when having more than one connection on the router will cause this allot.. Its Normal..
 
Oh, really. Hm, I thought this was something out of the ordinary. I don't understand why that's normal, then. Is it windows that is the problem or the router?

did you try to renew your IP from the router after plugging the cable back in?

maybe you should do something like:
1. plug the eth cable out
2. plug it back in
3. try to ping the router

Can ping?

a)connect to your router and check its activity log
b)try to renew your IP

Can't ping?

a)If you have a firewall on your PC -- kill it!
 
How do you ping?
I do know how to access my router's OS through my browser. But I haven't tried messing around in there when that happens.
 
Every Time You Lose Connection Do Bear In Mind That Your Router Has To Acquire An IP Again Only Thereafter Is Your Connection Functional.
 
local ip won't get changed with a cable unplugged

if you want to get a new ip write these on command screen

ipconfig/flushdns

ipconfig/release

ipconfig/renew

will stop waiting on rapid like sites too :D :D
