Windows 98 freezing & diskeeper lite

willhub, if you still haven't gotten around to installing Linux on your hard-drive then you should get yourself a Knoppix Live CD. I've used myself to see what it was like and it's very easy to use, just put it into your CD drive reboot and two minutes later you're running KDE. No installation, no partitioning, no formatting just a fully working Linux ready to be explored. There are other Live CD's around, you could even order an Ubuntu CD for free with free postage, but from the reviews I've read, Knoppix is the original and still the best of the lot.

were would i get the knoppix live from?, cant i download it?

You just don't get it do you. I'm very tempted to ban you right now. Posts deleted. Stay on topic. (Aimed at john441 and willhub. This is more than enough warnings.)

Déjà vu! I'm sure I saw this post somewhere before ;)
yup AT and I have talked about Overclockix here before, I use it when I need to recover my files if my Windows has failed once more. It's also neat to use on a computer that doesn't even have an operating system.

I used to run Linux, but that is, well, a long story. But the good news is that I may be back at it soon with any amount of luck and cooperation from some people.
