Okay, so I really need some help here. I have here this brand new PC that I just put together, and I'm actually gonna brag a little bit because its damn nice.

Geforce 7900 gtx (yes, that's the 512 one)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor
2 gigs of ram right now, DDR, soon to be upgraded to 4
Western Digital Raptor 74gig 10kRPM hard drive (SATA)
All on a DFI LanParty nF4 SLI-DR Mobo

Now, here is where the problem is: The stuff is all connected and working fine, but I bought myself a 64 bit version of Windows XP, and it will not install on my SATA hard drive. I need drivers, but I have not been able to find any anywhere!

I do have a floppy drive that I could attach, so that's not an issue. Has anyone else had this problem, and can anyone help me out!!!!

To really draw a tear from you, just think of how painful it is to sit here and know that your rig kicks some major ass, but you cannot use it at all!

So please, help a brotha out :D

Is there any specific error that happens when you try to install? Or does Windows Install just quit? Is the installer not recognizing your SATA drive?

The exact message that I get is:

"Setup did not find any hard disks installed in your computer.

Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program.

Setup cannot continue. To quit Setuo, press F3"

It's cause I need drivers I think. I'm still looking...

Drive is a Western Digital Raptor, Mobo is a LanParty nF4 SLI-DR. Raid controller is nVidia nForce 4

ah thats the problem, dont worry, it happened to me and i got so so so pi**ed off. to start off with are u using the onboard sata or a pci card to connect your hard drive.

I'm using the onboard SATA

go to ur manufacturers website and download the drivers and put them onto a floppy disk, when u put the win xp cd in, a blue screen will come up and at the bottom it will say, ''press f6 to install a third party raid or scsi controller....' press f6 and then when it says no card were found, press s to specify and insert the floppy disk and it shud work

*edit* ive found the drivers here. which ever reivison ur mobo is, click on the drivers for that mobo and donload an put onto a floppy
Download Driver

one problem though: this is the first time that im installing anything on this computer. it doesnt have an os installed yet, so i cant run an exe on it...

The revision of your board should be in the viscinity of your board model. To get the SATA drivers for your board to recognize your hard drive, you simply go to the manufacturer's site, find your board in the downloads section and throw the drivers on a floppy, smash F6 and load 'em up.

Uhh, you don't need drivers. You may have your SATA controllers configured in RAID mode, which does require drivers. By default, the nVidia controller should be setup as a regular, non-RAID ATA controller, but I'm not sure about the Silicon Image one.
