Im making my new pc at xmas but dont want to buy another copy of windows XP as I already have it for my other system. I was told that only one code will work for one copy of XP. so am I right in thinking that I cant use the same XP code that ive used on my other pc?
 
I would say that to do so is technically illegal with the general rule being one copy for each home PC. There are, of course, corporate licenses that cover multiple machines - but that a different matter.

If you put XP on the new computer - I think when you activate XP on the new system, the activation on the old system (your first PC) will stop being valid.

So, the next time you do something that requires WGA on the old system, it will fail and you will be hassled about activating it.

NO, you wont b able to activate your windows on the new computer...

No, it depends on the no. of licenses you've got with your XP CD as David said.... Normally for home users it comes with only one computer license which you have already used on your old computer..
So at last you have to buy a new Windows CD but u can save this money by installing Free Linux on your system....There are some members who provides free Linux CD on this forum if u r interested....

if windows xp with the upgrade coupon for vista is £56, will the version of vista be the same as the full retail one?
 
Where can you get XP for £56? Its normally hundreds even for the home edition!
The upgrade editions are still well over £100.

Windows 2000 on ebay will normally cost more than £56.
 
wow, thats cheap!

XP pro still costs a bomb but an OEM Home edition is cheaper than the upgrade version of XP Home!

Id email the shop and ask them. The voucher might be a 10% off voucher or something.
