Wireless Routing

I was just wondering how you guys feel about wireless networks, like an all encompassing view. Thanks in advance, i'm just trying to gather some opinions.

Well, I would at least like to try it if I could get it to work!! (see link below)

I think the concept is very appealing (no bloody trailing wires everywhere). However, there are issues of security (people tapping into your bandwidth, etc). There is, apparently, a newer type encryption key that you can use to largely prevent this called WPA - which is meant to be more secure than WEP. There are also issues relating to wireless networks being slower than their wired counterparts and less reliable.

Perhaps it's essentially 'early days' for wireless routing and it needs time to be developed and improved on so that it can rival the the accomplishments and reliability of wired routing.

Edit: since got it sorted via Netgear's tech support. The connection seems quiet fast on the laptop as I work at the moment - but it was a bit on the slow side earlier on. I'll just have to see how it all pans out.
