i recently bought a x1300 pci card.. and ever since.. ive been getting snow like dots all over my screen when i am running a game.. i normally play cz and source.. and in both i get this.. its very annoying and i am trying to rid of it.. i am thinking its one of three things.. comp is starting to wear out from age... power supply needed (only have stock 250 right now :doh: ) or a bad video card.. they recommend 250 with this card.. and i dont have much on my comp.. just dvd, cd, media reader, one hd... and usb mouse/keyboard.. and obviously the video card.. that could be the problem but idk.. also the comp itself is pretty old.. and is becoming extremely outdated.. its an emachines t2984... its about 3/4 years old i think.. another cause of the video problems maybe heating problems but i idle 49c or below and im not sure when gaming.. any advice on video problems? idk where to start.. and if its gonna cost a lot or w.e to fix.. then i might as well just get a whole new comp since i have been planning on it.. but i need a good enough reason too... plz reply k thnx bi

emachines are well known (by me at least) for having underpowered PSU's, emachines are great after a little tweakingLaMbOfGoD said:
- replace PSU (with one recommended in B's PSU Sticky)
- replace the power switch on the front panel - not needed on all emachines (just be aware that its a possible problem)
Edit: you should have replaced the PSU before upgrading
