3DMark2001 Scores

ok first time benchmarker here - literally first attempt. at 1024x768 with 2x aa, i got 11094. Is this good or bad and should I do it on the default browser settings?

I'm gonna do it on 1600x1200 and everything maxed now, so i'll let you know. on my old pc, p3 800mhz, 384 ram mx440 64mb, i got 4678. so it's a massive improvement, i'll give ya that.

i'm using the second edition, and the "benchmark" button with 17 tests. hopefully thats right. my score is 11330.

Dragothic Low - 200.9 fps, high - 117 fps
Nature 49 fps
Environ. Bump Map - 136.6 fps

Good or bad?

The human eye ceases to notice additional frames at an exponential rate after 50FPS, so I'd say that's pretty good :)

Waffle what settings are you using? I'm sure you can get better marks! I think people mostly do the benchmark with the first three test on the list...

im using the defaults, like b said.

what sort of scores are you getting?

i thought it seemed a little low, but seeing as first time benchmark, didn't mean a lot to me.

hell, it plays far cry on max everything and high aa, even at 1600x1200, so i don't think there's a problem.

the low score made me think that there might be a problem with the settings or something.

They do seem a bit low. My P4 2.4B @ 3.1GHz with a GF4 Ti4600 is doing 14,500+. 3D Mark can give a lower score if your AGP or Chipset driver isn't installed.

that's highly likely then. i doubt they are installed or up-to-date. ok, i know i'm a pain in the arse, but where from and how do i check?

thanks!!

i just got a 9800pro (traded my 9600xt plus $80 to a friend) and my new score is around 15500 in 01 and 5600 in 03.
it runs doom 3 like a dream for me at least :) but i only get 2fps increase in ut2004 timedemo.

go waffle, go waffle!

I took the test again, and finally got a semi decent score!

Old score: 11094

New Score!
16667

22439 3D marks....dude. that's like double my old score.

I think I'll just run the benchmark over and over again during the night, and see what happens in the morning.

Later days

:good:
