I use 1337 in most of my passwords, I try to keep to one but I've got about 5 tied to various aliases
i have so many different passwords...i dont use leet speak a lot, only when i want to prove to somebody that i can understand them and teach them a thing or 2, i dont go around using it as my everyday form of speech...heh i just do it when people think they know something about it and start trying to confuse me and i just type back even more confusingly to show them they dont know what they're talking about. 0|-| \/V3l1 +1/\/|£ f0|2 |\/|3 7o 3n|) 7h15 |*o5+ heh
all you have to do is use a few different variations and mix things up using symbols, letters and numbers and things get really confusing, which is why i dont use it as people get confused.
heh yeah people can see it when you tell them what it means but when they have no idea what its meant to say the just scratch their heads.... hah:
Okay so here's a list of the alphabet in l33t A = 4 or /\ or @ or /-\ or ^ or ä or € or € or ª B = 8 or 6 or |3 or ß or P< C = [ or ¢ or < or ( D = |) or o| or [) or I> or |> or € E = 3 or & or £ or ë or € or ê or |=- F = |= or ph or |# G = 6 or & or (€+ or 9 or C- or (, H = # or [-] or {=} or <~> or |-| or ]~[ or }{ or ]-[ or € or }-{ I = 1 or ! or | or & or eye or 3y3 or ï or [] J = ,| or €| or ; K = X or |< or |{ or ]{ or }< L = 1 or 7 (note the interchangability of 7 for either L or T) or | or |€ or # or € M = //. or ^^ or |v| or [V] or {V} or |\/| or /\/\ or (u) or []V[] N = // or ^/ or |\| or /\/ or [\] or or <\> or {\} or []\[] or O = 0 or () or ?p or ö P = ph or |^ or |* or |o or |^(o) or |> or |” or 9 or []D or |° Q = 9 or (,) or <| or ^(o)| or ¶ or O_ R = |2 or P\ or |? or lz or [z or € or ® S = 5 or $ or z or § T = 7 or + or -|- or 1 or '][' U = (€) or |€| or v or ü V = \/ or < W = \/\/ or '// or \^/ or (n) or \V/ or \// or \X/ X = >< or € Y = Y or '/ or `/ or V/ or \-/ or j also ¥ or % Z = 2 or z or ~\€ or ~/€ but remember its not all about changing the letters, you have to mix things up a little bit and use some l33t expressions that Exfoliate explained earlier in the thread for example You suck = you is teh suxors(or z) = `/ou []5 7e|-| su><0rz
I personally only ever use "teh suxxors" when I'm really p*ssed off. I do use the generic n00b, 0wned with the people who udnerstand it but not a lot. Personally going that far with l33t is a bit pointless. If you want to make your words unreadable then only give its string MD5 checksum .
yeah i dont speak in l33t, i just do it when people decide they know a thing or 2 about it, EDIT: I was just typing an alphabet in l33t really, i had started my own once while i was bored and i added to it. not looking for a sticky...l33t isnt worth it and doesnt deserve it, just gets annoying after a while, its like a lot of things good in small doses heh...
I generally use it to mock people that think it makes them cool. I really don't use 1337 5p34k seriously. I tend to laugh at people that think it's a language. OMG! Teh intarw3b 1s t3h best0rz!!!!111111!!!! That stuff makes me laugh at people. I only find it irritating when people use it while asking for help and are typing frantic messages. It makes me not want to answer, and I tend to think I'm not alone on that issue.
yeah i agree with you, i dont know everything but i know a fair bit about it but it doesnt mean i got around writing in l33t, or SMS type language either, i much prefer writing things normally, well at least half normally...heh...l33t does get on my nerves as it can take a long time to type and just gets irritating after a while, but at the minute my brother thinks he can type in it so i mighty just have to make sure i write a mesage he cant understand... [-]£[-] [] 46r££ V\/1+|-| 818 8 7£h 1/\/7er|/\|£|3 15 73h B£57oR2!1!111!1! 8u7 17 1+ !5 /\/\/-\||\||_`/ ful1 ()f |*|2o/\/... heh a mish mash of l33t styles there, there's the numbers replacing letters, symbols and lines.....just to mux things up a little, but i have to say it is annoying when people write hole paragraphs in it, the occasional sentence isnt bad but not all the time, and people who think they are l33t use it constantly but the really l33t people dont and can teach them a thing or two about typing in 'leet'

Pretty amazing stuff here everyone, I didn't think this thread would get as much attention as it did.:good:
[]-[]£[]-[] well you brought up a subject which almost everyone could talk about, i think a sticky should be made about the different types of 'computer language' binary, l33t (even thought its not used that widely here) Base 64, MD5 checksum etc....
