    HIS X800XT PE

for about another £30 i could get an X850XT PE but its not a HIS one, so i will get this cos i love the fan on it, its so cool

, lol just noticed it was not including vat for that :(, i will have to settle for one in other post.

so, whats so better about the x800XT PE to the normal XT and compared to the X850XT PE and to the normal X850XT?

The PE simply means Platinum Edition~basically faster core and/or memory speeds!
Here in australia the X800XT is $760 and the X850XTPE is $880-and thats the cheapest manufacturer!

wow, in australia u guys really do get ripped off, thats like more than £400.
so, if i bought a normal x80xt, it would not take much overclocking to get to the pe standards right?

Its not that much of a rip off, i think those prices are pretty good!

Id say you wouldnt have to OC much at all.
im not sure but the PE might also have more pipelines!

Don't bother with the X800XT PE/X850XT/PE's, stick with the plain jane X800XT, overclock it just a bit and it will be right up there with it's big bros. Only buy a PE or whatever if the price is about the same as they're not worth the extra 30quid in my opinion. Clock speed is the only difference as it was pointed out.

Not really, every MHz it's been oc'ed brings you that much closer to it's limet. Better heatsinks are what I'd be after. Factory oc'ed parts are pretty much for those that don't know how to oc themselves.

but the x850xt pe has better potential, becouse thats not just an overclocked x800xt isn't it, so surely that will have more pottential, and overclockers.co.uk say the x850xt pe is the worlds fastest agp card, i think i might get it as then i dont have to bother with overclocking.

    HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X850 XT PE ICEQII 256MB DDR3 VIVO TV-Out/DVI (AGP) - Retail (RX850XTPE-AGPVICEQ) (GX-033-HT)

i think i will get that at overclockers.co.uk, its only £264

You wnot have to worry about overclocking anyway, all those X6 & X800's are plenty powerful as they are!

Yes but i suppose it depends on what he upgraded from!
I really think the differences between them would be minimal!

ah, becouse i am really stuck, i can either spend £202 on an x800xl, or £246 on an x800xt or £265 on an x850xt PE, i do want the cheapest, but the thing is, i would i be able ot overclock an x800xl from like its 1ghz memory clock, to 1.2ghz, and overclock the core by an extra 200-250mhz so i could beat an x800xt and x850xt PE?

becouse i do really want ot best possiblt performance form on of the worlds fastest agp cards

yea, form that it seems like x850xt pe is the best, what i dont understand from that is, how is the 9800 pro beating a x800xt on highest settings ?

EDIT: oh i see, its dollar per fps, so it means that x850xt pe is not worth is price.
